Pat Trainor Hall of Fame Award

Category 1:

Pat Trainor Hall of Fame Award: This award was instigated to remember a friend and colleague Pat Trainor. The object of the award is to honour a fellow teacher who has given years of service to Gaelic Games promotion. The winning nominee will receive two All-Ireland tickets for year 2018.Nominations for this category can only be made by county or provincial units. 

Public Relations

Category 2 - Public Relations: 1st Prize €700 2nd Prize €600 3rd Prize €500

Coistí are asked to submit their PR work for the current year in this category. The folder could contain newspaper articles, magazine articles, fixtures booklet, annual publications promoting activities of Allianz CumannnamBunscol.  Websites could also be included but cannot replace newspaper articles. Regarding presentation all entries should consist of a book (scrapbook, presentation folder, ring binder etc.) in which reports, photographs etc. are pasted into the pages. Loose clippings are not acceptable.


Category 3- County1st Prize €700 2nd Prize €600 3rd Prize €500

Promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture – County & Provincial Committees

Category 41st Prize €700 2nd Prize €600 3rd Prize €500

County and Provincial committees are asked to show their innovative work in promoting Gaelic games and culture. This can target a single area or a number of areas involving promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture including Football, Hurling, Camogie, Handball, Rounders, Respect Initiative, Go Games, 1916 project, Table Quiz etc.Submission will consist of:

Document outlining promotion work (1 – 2 A4 Pages - 500 words approximately)

Photographic evidence

Promotion of Gaelic Games and Culture – Schools

Category 5: 1st Prize see below 2nd Prize €600 3rd Prize €500

Schools are asked to show their work in promoting Gaelic Games and Culture. This can target a single area or a number of areas – including football, hurling, camogie, handball, rounders, Respect Initiative, Go Games, Table Quizzes, Club School Links, Coaching Initiatives.

Submission in this category can only be via a digital submission in one of the following formats;

Powerpoint or Short Movie (Compatible with Quicktime) of no more than 5 minutes in duration.  This should be posted on a memory stick to the committee member as per below.






School of the Year

The first place school in Category 6 & 7 will be presented with awards in Croke Park 

April 2018

School of the Year

  • Schools that promote Gaelic games in their schools are asked to submit entries to this section. Your work should show how you promote and participate in Gaelic games in your school. The work can be presented through articles /photographs and children’s work. 

Each school that submits a project to this Category will receive a Certificate of participation.

There are 2 Categories as follows:

Category 6- School of the Year

Schools with a roll of 150 pupils or less

Category 7 - School of the Year

Schools with 151 or more pupils.

Category 5, 6 & 7- Winning Schools

Will be invited to Croke Park for a day where their award will be presented.

Stadium and Museum Tour for 30 pupils per school

€500 to each school towards bus transport

Lunch for 30 pupils and 3 staff


Closing Date for all Entries: Wednesday 10th January 2018
