Past pupils do Patrickswell NS proud   13/09/2018

All-Ireland euphoria is still in the air in Limerick as followers savour a first senior All Ireland hurling victory since 1973. Limerick County Board recently announced that it would ensure that every primary school in the city and county would host a visit from the Liam McCarthy Cup. And they have been true to their word. Today, all associated with Patrickswell NS celebrated as three former pupils of the school brought the McCarthy Cup back to the school where they learned so many lessons that have stood them in good stead on and off the field. Diarmuid Byrnes, Aaron Gillane and Cian Lynch all attended the school a few short years ago. Today, all three had another reason to celebrate as they had also been nominated in the shortlist for the 2018 All Star hurling team. Limerick goalkeeper Nickie Quaid has also been nominated for an All Star award. Nickie has recently joined the teaching staff of the school. Truly a remarkable hurling nursery. No wonder the staff of the school are in joyous mood.
