Handball in Hospital (that's Co Limerick!!)   03/12/2019

The 2019 South Limerick Primary Schools Handball took place on Monday December 2nd in John the Baptist C.S. in Hospital. This year was the third running of the event and saw handball stronghold Galbally represented by their national school for the first time.

Galbally N.S. joined Kilmallock N.S., Hospital N.S. and Herbertstown N.S. in supplying 40 entrants to the blitz. In total over 60 games were played using the 'one wall' courts and there were some excellent contests throughout the day. By the day's end, South medals were heading back to each school with champions crowned in U11 and U13 categories for both boys and girls.

Limerick GDA and former hurler and footballer  James Ryan and Johnny Penny of Limerick GAA Handball were on hand to help with the smooth running of the day and James also presented the medals to the finalists in each grade.
