ALLIANZ Canon Esler Heats

2013 Allianz Canon Esler Champions, Carrick PS, comfortably made their passage through to this year’s semi-finals in their bid to win back to back titles. Qualifying with the Burren Boys is two of their closest rivals in St Patrick’s Hilltown and St Patrick’s Mayobridge and the final school making the quartet is St Joseph’s Carryduff. All four schools qualified through their respective heats unbeaten but it’s the champions who go into Fridays semis as favourites.

The Allianz Canon Esler Shield semi-finals also see four schools who are no strangers to the latter stages of primary school competitions. The amalgamated team of Aughlisnafin & Carnacaville and St Dallan’s Warrenpoint have both won the Canon Esler Cup and St Patrick’s Saul are past shield winners. St Colman’s Saval make up the last semi-finalist who have been here for the past two seasons.

All four semi-finals will be played this Friday morning in Annsborough. The shield semis at 10am and Cup matches throwing in at 11am.

The next meeting of Allainz Cumann namBunscol An Dún will take place in Aughlisnafin at 4pm on Thursday 16-10-14.
