Day 5 of this year's Cumann na mBunscol, INTO, GAA Mini 7's took place on Sunday July 21st in Croke Park.
This children had been waiting almost 2 months for this very exciting day - having received their initial letter in April. There is no bigger day in the hurling calendar. Croke Park was sold out for this event and the children were excited and nervous at playing in front of over 80000 people.
The children and their families were met in the Barbara Ward Centre by members of Cumann na mBunscol, Gaa Respect Team, the INTO President and the Dublin teachers who work with the teams. Following some speeches and a cupan tae it was off for Croke Park for the lucky children. There they received their gear for the game. They had lunch and had photogaphs on the side of the pitch.
Of course the highpoint of the day is walking out on to the grass of Croke Park in front of 80000 very vocal supporters to experience Croke Park in all its glory. This day will hopefully live in the memories of the children for a long time - and encourage them to keep playing Gaelic Games!
