A busy day in the Kingdom where Cumann na mBunscol hosted their Cross Country Running. Schools were out training all month - hail, rain or snow. A great event - ably led by Mr O hAinifein
The Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, Ciarrai, Cross Country running was held in Caherslee on Wednesday 28th February. With races for boys and girls from 3rd to 6th class, participants came from schools all over the county vying for top place in the individual and team categories.
There were huge entries in all four races, which were run in testing conditions on the Tralee Sod. First home in the 3rd and 4th class race was Emer O Sullivan from Kilconly NS. Emer Bruner (Fossa NS) took the title in the 5th/6th class race.
Seamus Hallisey (Scoil Saidhbhin) came first in the 3rd/4th class boys race. Andy Costello (Mainistir O dTorna) was crowned 5th/6th class champion.
Currow Ns were gold medal winnders in the girls' 3rd/4th class team event. St Oliver's NS, Killarney took gold in the 5th/6th girls event.
In the boys 3rd/4th class race Gaelscoil Faithleann took gold. Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn were first to finish in the 5th and 6th boys race.
